April 14, 2010 - Beijing, China - Attorney Ma Dongxiao organized a seminar on the“Interpretation of Legislation and Current Situation of the Product Recall System and Response by Enterprises” in our Grandall Legal Group, Beijing Office.

The Chinese government is soliciting ideas from the public for the draft on the “Ordinance of the Defective Product Recalling Management”, and the “Regulations on Recalling Management of Electronic Products for Consumption”, which might be promulgated soon. In order to gather an efficient  collective response, Grandall Legal Group invited some officials from the Defective Product Management Centre of the Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the PRC (AQSIQ) and several international corporations in the fields of electronics and automobiles to hold a seminar on April 13, 2010. The attendees and participants had  a very lively and constructive discussions on the product recalling system in China taking into account of current situation, as well as how to respond by enterprises.

Mr. Ma Dongxiao, partner of Grandall's Beijing Office gave an overall introduction of the product recalling system in China and analyzed in great depth relating to the interpretation of the draft ordinance. The representatives from various enterprises, officials from relevant authorities and Grandall's professionals  have had effective exchanges after the seminar.

Grandall Legal Group has, for many years engaged in theoretical research and practical experiences in the field of product liability. The Firm was invited by the AQSIQ to participate in drafting the “Management Ordinance on Guarantee of Product Quality” and the relevant regulations, and also attended litigations on international product liabilities referring to the Baotou air accident.
